What we collect and why.

We advertise on Facebook and Instagram and use two Meta tools to see whether those ads lead to sales.

The Meta Pixelis a script from Meta that runs in your browser on this site. It tells Meta when you view a page, look at a sign, add a sign to your cart, start checkout, and complete an order, along with the signs involved and their prices. It sets Meta’s cookies (_fbp, and _fbc if you arrived from a Meta ad) so Meta can connect your visit to the ad you saw.

The Conversions APIsends Meta the completed order from our server, so a sale is still counted if your browser blocks the Pixel. With it we send the order total before tax, the signs in the order, the identifiers in Meta’s cookies, your IP address and browser type, and your email address, phone number (if you gave one), city, state, ZIP code and country. Your email, phone and address details are scrambled with a one-way hash (SHA-256) before they leave our server, so Meta receives a code rather than the details themselves. Meta uses it to match the order to a Meta account if there is one. We see only totals, such as how many purchases an ad led to.

Meta also uses this information under its own terms, including to decide which ads to show. The Meta Privacy Policy explains how.

To opt out, open your Meta ad preferences and turn off the use of your activity from other businesses to show you ads. You can also block cookies from facebook.com or use a content blocker; the site works the same without them.
